6th graders learned about the life of Dutch artist Vincent Van Gogh, and applied his painting style and technique in a re-creation of his crow field painting.

VAN GOGH ORIGINAL:

6TH GRADE FINAL RESULTS:

This painting was all about layering. First, we used watercolor to paint the sky, pathway and grass. Then, we layers tempera into the watercolor to add texture. The final details were the moon, and of course the crows, in a Van Gogh style painting technique.
