6th grade The Starry Nights

This week in art, 6th graders learned about post-impressionist art, and Mrs. Llu's particular favorite piece from that era: Van Gogh's "The Starry Night." First, students used crayons in white, yellow, blue, purple and black to build up the details in their piece. The next step was, quick, easy and fun: fill the paper with blue liquid watercolor.

This was a great lesson, the pieces turned out gorgeous, and they were able to complete them in one class period!
